The Dream Experience 1.6.2

Purpose: To improve the possibility of lucid dreaming, reduce the amount of necessary sleep and improve the overall quality of sleep.

Total Duration: Nearly eight hours (You may change the number of times the Dream Loop (Loop C) repeats to change the total length of the experience.)

Instructions:

1. Begin Listening to this preset approximately 10 minutes before you intend to sleep (i.e. begin while reading, browsing the net, etc.)

2. Focus on the binaural carrier sound. (The sound that is not the pink/blizzard/waterfall noise)

3. Relax and let the sound take you.

4. Try to keep the headphones on unless you really have a hard time sleeping... It is a good idea to use a comfortable pair of headphones.

5. Report your experiences/results to the preset page for this preset on www.bwgen.com. The information you provide will help me improve this preset.

6. Enjoy :)

Last Night!

I changed the preset segment C to 60min instead of 90 because i didnt have 8h to sleep, changing it to 60 got me 6.5h instead.

I read a book in 10min while listening to the preset.

After the 10min i turned off the lights and got to sleep.
After a total of 20min i started to feel my body got warmer and it felt as if my face was going numb and warm also.

Then i dont remember anything more until i awoke 4h later thinking "hmm i should not be awake now" and then i fell asleep again.

When i woke up i didnt feel very much alive and i fell asleep again with the headphones still on. And woke up by my clocks this time and put the headphones off, still i was not alert and awake.
BUT, I had really great dreams tho, very vivid ones.,, and funny is that i had most themes based on sexual stuff.
50% recall of the dreams.

This preset may work in the weekend and when you can sleep long hours.
Good work on the "falling asleep" part and the vivid dreaming stuff, tho the awakening part was abit too lame.

Score [********* ]

Btw, they should update this forum so you can add votes.

Damn strange edit this is..
The score was supposed to look like this:

[*********______]

And another thing that ive recognised an aftereffect of the sleep is that i dont feel quite inthemoment today, i feel like im not present.
Like if ive been high on weed last night or something.

I have this feeling of "i dont have the energy to work today"
Its been like this all day :D

Tried this for 2 nights running and both nights i wake up at the 1hr 25 min mark (that includes the 10 min start cycle) When i wake up its a wide awake too and cant seem to go back to sleep. Been experimenting w/ LD for a while and havent had one exactly yet but have managed to have more vibrant dreams with id say a 40% recall if i have one. Any tips or suggestions that might help??

Thanks for the feedback LogoRat,

What effect did the 1.4.1 version have on you? did you get your feeling of "i dont have the energy to work today"? or the feeling like being high on weed the previous night?

The wakeup part was an experiment somewhat based on the "too much coffee" preset (people were saying it worked well to wake up to)

I will work on the wakeup segment but unfortunately i need to get headphones that i can sleep the whole night with... they get uncomfortable and i have to take them off at some point in the night... any suggestions on a model?

Shadablade, I have not heard of that one with my preset... Does it happen without bwgen running? is the volume too high?

I agree there should be votes on each preset... that would help people find the presets that shine.

Well, the 1.4.1 didnt drain my energy like the new one did.
And the weed feeling was not there on the 1.4.1
try using some freq below 1Hz ..like 0.5Hz so that the physical body can stabalize itself and reenergize.

So I decided to try this preset. It is also my first time of trying a sleep one.

I laid back and browsed the web for the first 10 minutes, then laid back and fell "asleep." Except, I was not asleep. I can pretty much say I know what it feels like to be asleep. In other words, I just laid there observing what it was like to have my body go through REM sleep, etc. It's cool that I could experience that, but I really hope to have my first lucid dream. I tried visualizing, but I think it is because I don't "believe" enough, so my imagination won't let it happen.

Of course, when I am not concious, I have very vivid dreams, but when I am concious, I can't seem to have any real visualization. With this preset, I was able to imagine a dark fire. Kind of a dark grey on black.

Any suggestions on where I should be mentally to actually go into a lucid dream? I was completely aware of my body, albeit very numb, the whole time. I did notice my eyes want to open a number of times, where I would see the slight glow of appliances in my bedroom. What should I expect?

Also, I took off my headphones after about 3 hours, because I did end up kind of bored and the experience felt "stale." I woke up this morning feeling very refreshed though, so I for sure did sleep well during those three hours I was aware.

version 1.4.1 worked great. dreams were very intensive and i could remember most of them. i'll try this version and report it :)

btw: i found that this preset worked well with silent music in the background (i tried different things and i think it was strictly connected with what i was dreaming about.)

Great preset. I had 2 dreams vividly, maybe 3 and i woke up at the too much coffey part:) Well it was 4 o clock, because i shortened part c to 60 minutes like logorat. i took off my in-ear headphones and slept to 7 o clock.

recall?? really good, i will begin my daily dream log with this!!

Try listening to www.somafm.com (drone zone stream) at something like 25% of the volume of this preset.

I believe having some sort of relaxing music such as the stream above to accent this preset will help keep your mind visualizing things.

-Make sure the volume is relatively low (not too low that it is like someone is whispering but loud enough that you can comfortably hear things clearly.)
-The music should not overpower the preset and the preset should not overpower the music

Try it and tell me what you think.

Tried using this last night. It did make me feel really tired and sleepy, and at one point I started hearing really weird sounds, but I just couldn't get properly to sleep because of my big headphones. After about 2 hours I got really hot and had to have a cold drink! After that I took off the headphones and I got to sleep almost immediately, but no dreams though, which is unusual for me. I'll try it again when I have some smaller headphones.

Does the new version no longer induce sex-dreams?

I wonder.. perhaps I should try the old version again...

02-Mar-2004, Reggie
Please try the old one again and tell me if you experience those dreams with that preset and not this one.

Thanks,

(trying the old version tonight to see what happens)

The more feedback i get the better the next version will be.

I used the old one and they worked basically - see my post in the thread for the old version 1.4.x.

Ive tried this preset last night. For first 10 minutes i feel nothing. After more than 30 minutes when i turn off light a go sleep i close my eyes and i saw funny pictures under my eyelid. After more than an hour (i think this was an hour :)) this i have falling dwon in to deep feelings. Then i probably go asleep. I wake up in the night and i realise that my headphones was laing on the bed, probobly their take out from my ear when i sleep. I go sleep again and i dont remember any dreams. I woke up at 7 am after 8 hours on too much cofee preset (so he works :))
General comment: This was my first time when im used BWGen and im very impressed. I dont realised that i cant have this faliing down feeling when i go sleep and see this funy pics ander my eyelid.
I will try this onece more tonight :)

I just used your preset (v 1.6.2) in an attempt to have a lucid dream. I followed your instructions, but found it very difficult to fall asleep while listening to the preset. This may be because of the type of headphones I was using but still, I seemed to drift in and out of sleep every hour and a half or so. After about six hours I got fed up, took off my headphones, and fell asleep almost immediately. It was at that point that I had what I believe was my first lucid dream. Very ironic, but I think it speaks highly of this preset. Good work!

I shall use v 1.8.2 tonight, and see if I have more success.
