A revised version of my original "The Dream Experience" preset.

I have had better results with this one (vivid dreams, more alert when waking up) and I lowered the pitch to help make sleeping easier.

Please tell me about your results and what you think, etc.

I used it...It took me a good while to fall asleep. My dream wasn't lucid but it was a really good and detailed dream that actually followed a storyline...It is a dream where the begining of it I have had before but it led into a diffrent scenario..great fun, I will use this again, but I wonder...How long am I suppose to listen to this? The whole night? Thanks for a great preset!!

Glad you enjoy it Steve! How long did it take you to fall asleep?

I usually wake up at some point in the night and remove my headphones (they get uncomfortable).. it is typically about 1-2 hours after I fall asleep.

Did you sleep with the preset the whole night?
I haven't really been able to test the difference between using it for 1-2 hours and the entire night.

If your headphones are comfortable enough (and you are interested) I'd like to find out how sleeping with it the entire night works out.

Thanks and good dreams to all who use my preset ;)

This one admittedly works well - usually with sleep presets, I'll make it a point to remove the headphones after I begin to feel groggy, so that I can take a sleeping position on my side [which is pretty tough while wearing headphones].

This preset knocked me out before I even had a chance to get the headphones off.

what if u have a bad dream can u still wake up?

23-Jul-2003, Reggie
Steven,
Yes, if you have a bad dream you can still wake up. Your mind has ultimate control over what bwgen does. When you listen to bwgen your choosing to let it do its thing. If you just hear the sounds and go against their effects, bwgen will not work nearly as effectively, if at all.

Also, one can teach themselves to realize they are dreaming while in a dream (lucid dreams). I'm hoping this preset will help people achieve that.

Mike, glad to hear it works for you. Did you experience any dreams? Any other effects? Would you mind supplying more details please?

Thanks, and hope you enjoy my preset.

Reggie, cool job on the preset. In my attempt to regain normal sleep patter (10pm to 6am) instead of hypersomniac 12:00 to 11:00, I used the preset last night. The firt part helped me relax and zone out. The second part (which I looped it 7 times) kinda put me into a deep meditation state (little thinking, relaxed body) like when I do progressive relaxation. After a couple of hours of that, I guess I went into semi-sleep, but I was conscious of my not actually totally sleeping. Later, I had a little lucid dream, but that's out it. When I woke up around 6:00, I felt kinda groggy (like hang-over), so I slept till 11:00AM.

I guess my question is, does listening to Theta after inducing somagogic (?) state helpful to stay in deep sleep? Anyways, I will give this preset a try again. Hopefully, I will find something to help me, besides melatonin pills, adjust my screwed up sleep. Thanks for the preset.

I like this alot. Reggie seems interested in details so...

Only Used It Once So Far.
I have excellent headphones with big pads around them and a very
long extension cord from my computer. I began getting very relaxed almost
immediately. I was laying on my back in bed. I didnt fall asleep right away but
I noticed my imagination and visualizations were very easy. My favorite type
of dreams are sexual ones where I can basically feel the actual dream woman and
I am able to direct my focus on her and touch and play however I like and it actually feels real. In those dreams I am always so amazed that I will start grabbing everything in the dream to feel its texture (doors, desks, people) and
it makes me really happy knowing I am in a lucid dream.

Well, thats what the first hour or so was like but make no mistake I was not
asleep. I was more like half-asleep or in a trance. This alone after only about 30 minutes or so is amazing.

After about an hour I realized I really did need to goto sleep so I rolled on my side and kept the headphones on which is not bad cuz they have pads on them like I said above and also did not block or compress my ears in any way. I LOVE MY PIMPED OUT HEADFONES!! hehe. anyway... maybe 20 minutes later I was asleep.
And I did have a dream. Not incredibly lucid and I didnt know I was asleep cuz It felt like I was there (but i dont remember FEELING things in the world) and it had that foggy quality like a memory. Not sexual either but It was like women and some men chasing me and trying to get at me and I had made them angry somehow. I remember climbing trees or something like a tree to escape and looking down at them. I think maybe that dream occured about an hour or two after i fell asleep and maybe 1 hour later i woke up a little and took off the headphones and went back to sleep.

I had another dream after that but I cant remember it well but Im sure I had
one. I woke up to my alarm clock and was still very tired but I think thats becuz of I only slept maybe about 6 hours max and was enjoying the deep sleep(i went to bed reallly late). On a side note... I jumped on the site and snagged "Too much coffee" preset and listened sitting on my bed wrapped in blankets for like 10-15 minutes and I could actually feel my mind and body "waking up" I took a shower and realized I was fully awake and I also felt great all day long.

So this preset and "too much coffee" are both AWESOME. I cant imagine ever sleeping without it again. Thanks for your hard work.

is there anyway you can make the present shorter. 7.5 hours is pretty long.

I couldn't sleep listening to this preset. Ended up stopping it after some hours.
Still couldn't sleep until 4.30am... It wasn't very relaxing for me at least, initially I felt it quite irritating.
It was the first bwgen preset I tried to sleep to.

Thank you for the great feedback. The details are great. I am working on a new version based on all your feedback and my own experience. The more feedback/details the better I can adjust the preset.

mrc0de, thanks for the extra detail.. also I will play with the too much coffee preset tomorrow morning sounds like great results ;)

Glad you enjoy it.

Hey guys! i'm totally new to this whole brainwave thing, found it wile resaerching other things. i was very intrigued by the sound of this preset and all your user comments so i tried it out. part one seemed to relax me and in a way put me to sleep but then i kept waking up. go to sleep SNAP OUT go to sleep SNAP OUT. as soon as part 2 came around it stayed at 3.9hz for a while and i woke up and could not go back to sleep. finally i did and experienced no dreaming whatsoever. i rarely dream but when i do i always wake up feeling refreshed and happy rather than my usual groggy "go back to bed" feeling. i did wake up this morning feeling yawny but pretty perky and it was easy to get. i figure this was because of the preset. if anyone has any recommendations please email me or post a reply. i will check this forum daily. i dont even really know where to start with all the presets. just put my earphones on and chill out i guess? anyways any help would be grand because the comments that have been posted all sound VERY interesting and i would like to experience similar effects. and i wanna DREAM, Sleep Less, wake up Refreshed. im going to try too much coffee this morning and see what i get. please email me, if you have the time! :-) double_a_aaron@hotmail.com i also use MSN Messenger. Thanks Everyone! Help Is Greatly Appreciated.

I listened to the preset and switched it off before sleeping.
After a while I got some WILD style vibrations (For a definition of wild see ld4all.com). Interesting. Didn't enter a lucid dream but it could have been possible I think.

19-Oct-2003, MrC0de
hey wolverine I know what you mean about the vibes. These feel to me alot like the standard vibrations that preceed an astral projection and they often come when you become this relaxed. Its a good thing. Relax and go with it and you might just have yourself an OOBE.

Also, I dont fall asleep immediately with this even when i am tired. Its really cool cuz it basically relaxes me so much that Im not reall tired anymore. And i get so into the relaxing that hours go by with me in this state of euphoria. I wouldnt say this preset actually induces sleep so much as enhances it. Try to let your mind wander freely but dont really participate in it very much and allow yourself to drift. When i do that I often realize I cannot even hear the tones anymore for a few minutes because I have become so detached from the physical world, Once I realize this and think about it I can hear them again. Thats usually the best way to get to sleep i would think. I just go with it. I love it alot.

I have been practicing self-hypnosis,audio guided meditation, astral projection, and progressive relaxation for a long time now(since i was 12) and It might be a little easier for me to dig these feelings. I have never fully and lucidly acheived an OOBE except for as a very small child when i vividly remember moving my arms and legs "out of themselves, moving them and feeling them move but they didnt really move" and I have been trying very hard ever since... maybe too hard.. my problem is I have an overactive brain and It kinda jumps all over the place. My brother is a pyschologist and said I was what he liked to call "Psuedo-stupid" meaning Im not stupid but I cant control my mind very well. He said that cuz when I was 13 I told him how i could never sleep cuz "i cant stop thinking"

Long story Short. This type of relaxation in a bottle is PURE GOLD to me and is definately helping me get closer to my altered states goals.

19-Oct-2003, mrc0de
also when I listen to these presets I use a really long headphone extension cord that crosses my whole room and I listen to them lying on my back in bed with all the lights off and sometimes w/ the DirectX color strobe thingy (which pretty much flashes a whole dark room)... I do this wiith my eyes closed and lying flat on my back....

Please post your methods of listening :)

20-Oct-2003, Reggie
mrc0de, I am thrilled that you like my preset and that it has worked for you so well. The detachment I have experienced as well. I have listened and drifted to the point of silence. When i realized the silence i became aware of the noise again. Is there anything you think could be improved on? anything bother you? I am always striving to improve this preset.

I also have a very long extension cord (20ft) and a pair of headphones. I have not tried the dark room with monitor thing yet... not a bad idea.

I currently have version 1.6.0 of this preset in testing (also had a 1.5.0). I prefer to add presets to this site that have been somewhat tested (preferrably by more people than myself) If anyone is interested in helping me test and develop new versions of "The Dream Experience" preset please contact me via email.

mrc0de, I'm trying to get an LD, not an OOBE.. (though like most scientists I'd tend to call the latter an LD)..

26-Oct-2003, Karen
I slept with this preset last night. I have "flat" headphones with an extension cord so they're comfortable to wear while sleeping. So far out of all the presets I've listened to, this is the best one. I didn't have a lucid dream, but my dreams were very vivid and much more peaceful than I'm used to. I think I could very easily have a lucid dream with this preset. Also, one big thing I noticed, was when waking up. Lately I've had problems waking up feeling very groggy and tired...but 7 1/2 hours later with this peset, I woke up wide awake and feeling very refreshed. I was very pleased with that. I've been playing around with several presets myself trying to find a way to incude astral projection easier. I'm able to project...but normally only from sleep paralysis or lucid dreaming, neither which I can induce at will...they just sorta happen o their own. I'm very interested to see what other work you do on this and I'd be happy to help you test out presets.

well, this is the first preset i have used that gave me very noticable effects.

i remember being very relaxed for a time, then suddenly my awareness shot through the roof, and i started getting some vibrations, had i been asleep i think that alone would have sent me lucid. I must admit i am a little sceptical about the need for the visualisation frequencies, but then what do i know. i saw loads of patterns and stuff. i must admit every time the frequency changed i got a little freaked out, i think the transition may be too quick.

anyway im going to try again 2 nite (its friday i will most probably be drunk or stoned so getting to sleep wont be a problem.

scuse the criticism, just my first impressions, apart froom that great work its the best preset i have used (apart from the fact that i had to search it out at the yahoo group because its not available for dload here only the background file :/)

This gives me strange dreams but not lucid ones.

23-Nov-2003, Steve
I've used this preset 3 nights in a row with similar results each night. I know I dreamt all three nights, but I don't remember them; I just have an unshakeable feeling that *something* was dreamt.
Anyhow, each night I lied down after starting the preset, and after 5-10 of concentrating on the sounds, I start getting strange dizzy feelings. Then, what feels like a "stripe" of sharp pain appears from just under my right clavicle extending to the right of my belly button. This alarmed me a bit of course, but it wasn't unbearable, and I tried to relax. It suddenly disappeared, then something else weird happened. I sleep on my back with my hands folded at my belly button, and it felt like someone grabbed my wrists and pushed down! Again, I was freaked but succeeded in calming myself, and like before, as soon as I relaxed, it stopped. All in all though, I think I was more fascinated and intruiged than scared the whole time. After that all I remember is a return to the dizzy feelings and a few twitches before I fell asleep.
Has anything like this ever happened to anyone else with this or any other preset?? I'm sure during these occurances I wasn't asleep, as I actually opened my eyes at one point and the feeling was still there. I *have* however been getting some of the best sleep in my life and feel better during the day than I have in months. So thanks for the crazy experiences and great sleep!

23-Nov-2003, Steve
Correction to above post: second and third nights the pain wasn't there, and the "pushing" I felt, wasn't on my arms the second night, it was like fingers randomly poking me all over with some facial twitching. The third night all I remember is a quick decline into sleep, then waking up 6 hours later like I'd just blinked my eyes. Again, great sleep every night, even though I'm not conditioned enough to remember many of my dreams, but thanks! :P

24-Nov-2003, Wolverine
Yes it happened to me, together with vibrations, the first time I used this (it was my first preset..).

It's actually part of falling asleep consciously - part of a technique called WILD. You can read about it in any book or site on Lucid Dreaming.

It has never happened again to me, I don't know why.

14-Dec-2003, John
I tried this preset twice. The first time I had some interesting dreams, but it was difficult to remember them (like %20 recollection). BUT.. when I woke up I just laid in bed for a while and had some very convincing waking dreams, which I totally remembered.

The 2nd time, last night, either I didn't dream or can't remember. The 1st night I used headphones and last night I just played it through speakers, so I suggest headphones.

cheers

Wow, what a post! (see above) congrats on your now 65 days clean, paradigm, good job! anyways i just have one quick Q, can i burn this to a cd in an 80 min format and use it that way, will it be effective?
thank you

02-Mar-2004, Reggie
Paradigm: Awesome to hear my preset helped you with your dreaming/sleep. Great detailed dream description. Have you experienced anymore dreams with my preset?

JOE Homo: if you remove segment C and record A-30min, B-50min, then if you can repeat the 50 min segment that should work. segment C is less important than A and B... even if you cant repeat segment B try it and tell me what happens ;)
Good luck.

Well, I tried this one last night at about 11pm. I grant it was very relaxing, but unfortunately it didn't get me to sleep faster, and I ended up waking up about an hour and a half into it. (No dream that I can recall during that time either.)

I will be trying it again tonight to see if I get any better results.

Oh, one thing I do want to mention, though. Shortly before I fell asleep, I did get a rather peculiar sensation in both my lower arms. It was something between an incredibly fast vibration and that tingly feeling you get when your foot falls asleep (just my luck half my body falls asleep before I do! :) ). Anyway, not sure what that may mean, but I figured y'all might want to know.

11-Mar-2004, yemyslf
wow, i used this last nite. i tried another and it got me to sleep but no amazing dreams
but this last nite was amazing, i dont remember when i fell asleep and usually it takes me an hour to fall asleep because i keep drowsing off and waking up but i must have fallen asleep withing 10 minutes

then i had 3 deams, the first one i cant remeber all i rememberwas that it was really cool, the second one i thought i could fly without wings, the third one I had figured out how to lift objects with my mind, i was so pissed off when i woke up and really couldnt move objects with my mind.

best preset yet, i did feel a little groggy this morning, like you know how if you get woken up in the middle of a dream you feel groggy cause thats your brains repairing state. Maybe if theres something you can do to bring you from the dream state to awake a little better, or isnt there too dreams states and one is when your energy is renewed, maybe you could put a little more time into this? i really dont know much about this stuff but i could sacrifice a little morning groginess as long as i keep gettin vivd dreams.

23-Mar-2004, Zombik
Well... It was terrible... I fell asleep pretty fast, but in the morning i felt terrible, like i had no sleep at all :( ( I listened to it all night long)

25-Mar-2004, Reggie
Thanks for all your comments. All your feedback helps me greatly in improving this preset/coming up with better ones. It also motivates me to do more work ;)

I have been working on a new version (something hopefully better than 1.4.1 and 1.6.2)

Sorry to hear that this didn't work for you zombik... How long have you used Bwgen? or rather, how experienced are you with listening to presets?

Thanks for all the feedback!

Sorry, but when I tried to use this, I couldn't fall asleep. How am I supposed to listen to this? I'm very new to brainwave generator. I haven't found anything to help me become more in tune with brainwaves.

11-Apr-2004, (unknown)
I couldn't fall asleep either last night with this playing. Or maybe I did, kind of, but the dream was very shallow and I kept waking up every now and then.
After only about 35 minutes I got so annoyed and frustrated that I just tossed the phones off and tried to sleep. I didn't manage to fall asleep properly until after approx. one hour of more shallow sleep.

Usually I can get relaxed and asleep quite quickly. It's not the headphones, I've slept fine with them before.

It's not even the sound, I found it very nice and pleasant before going to bed.

19-Apr-2004, Clark
If you cannot fall asleep with a preset playing, try listening to it after you wake up during the night (after 3 or 4 hrs sleep).

31-Jul-2004, marcus
i just can't seem to get this working for me. tried a few times already. having a hard time falling asleep, then when i do fall asleep, i wake up later from it (not remembering any dreams) and i take off my headphones so i can get some rest. any suggestions?

Wow! I had an erotic dream too! I went to sleep with 'phones on my head, I found the lowered tones very unobtrusive and easy to ignore. In the middle of the night, I woke up, but unaware that I had slept. I knew that quite a bit of time had passed, and I knew I had'nt been awake all that time. Then I thought- "what was I just dreaming?" and then it came back. I was on a grassy hilltop at sunset, laying down with a woman and smooching (I did'nt get further on account of awakening) but here's the kicker- as I was kissing her I was saying "yeah, I downloaded some great brainwave frequencies from the internet." ! I was actually abstractly aware of the dreaming program in my dream! The program WORKS! My only problem was that I had to remove my 'phones around 6 am because I could'nt get comfy on my pillow with the 'phones pressing against my ears. So to-day I am going to get some "earbud" phones, and use those inside my ears as I sleep with no discomfort.
This program is amazing. Success on the first night, if only for a minute or so (in dreamtime). I wonder what the erotic tendency is caused by...who cares, it works!!!

It didn't give me any lucid dreams, but a terrible headache instead. And i woke up even more tired than before i went to bed.
