Meditation+sleep

This is the preset I was talking about.

It starts around 15 hz, drops to 1.5 Hz in 15 minutes and then for the =
next 45 minutes raises up to 5 Hz.
It was my first experiment and intended to put me to sleep while =
reducing the amount of time I need to sleep.

To my supprise, it worked and for the next week I managed to get to =
sleep without sleeping pills and the day after feeling very =
concentrated... Only on 3 occasions it did not work completely, but the =
concentration seems to grow every day... It is hard to ignore that this =
binaural sound is not working...=20

Meanwhile I have provided the sound wave (burned on CD) to 4 other =
people, so I am wondering if they have the same results as I have.....

If anyone out there has other interesting presets, please feel free to =
share...

What I search for is:

* Deep meditation.
* Reduced sleeping
* Improved learning
* Improved concentration
* Improved creativity
* Relaxing.

What presettings works good?

I have also another strange preset which uses 7.8 Hz and 2 Hz constant =
and then uses 15 up to 40 Hz +15 up to 80 Hz in about 5 minutes... I =
used it just before I went to bed, and I couldn't get to sleep for the =
next 2 hours :-)... Even with my deep meditation technique, I could get =
to sleep. So be prepared :-)

Have fun....

Dude... how wonder no one replied. It's cuz this preset causes Calcium Ion Migration(brain tissues). Go search research about it if you don't believe me: those bad frequencies are 9,11 and 16. Moreoever, people can't even modify your preset for some weird reason. Well, at least I can't when I tried to make it more safetier. I have another method... but it's using a program to record your whole preset while skipping the dangerous presets. Of course, leaving the stereo off is a good idea.

Hmmmmm, what are you people talking about? I was looking for a meditation technique that lets you gain all the benefits of sleep in a fraction of the time actually sleeping would take, and I got this site. Any information on what I wrote above would be appreciated. thanks :o)

Cass, you're talking about "Yogic Sleep". Just do a search in Google for it - you'll find a million (well almost) websites about it. They say that 20 minutes of Yogic Sleep = 8 hours of normal sleep...

That's what I was looking for also when I stumbled across this page.

Hmmm, soundz interesting...
There has been much research into sound but also concider that the nervous and endo systems can be controlled by intention and apropriate attention of the mind.
I lived as a Buddhist monk for a few years and have used meditation for 10 years now, i'm now 30. I teach people how to meditate and also sleep by using meditation tech's.
Tipz...
Use out breath slow and long. Don't force just relax with the breath.
Keep mind in the body with the feeling of the breath.
Smile with in... useing eyes. This is a taoist technique.
Place awareness to hands and feet as you breath out. Stay with this for a bit.
Then Systematicly relax each part of the body, trigering the parasympathetic response of the nervous system.
Do this start at the feet, breath out relax let go. Then lower legs breath out let go, relax. etc
Accept all thoughts that arise, worry triggers the adrineals and fires up the fight/flight response and wakes you up. Soften accept relax let go.
Finally as you breath in feel a lift from the head up, like being pulled up by a thread from the crown of the head.
Keep breathing out to the hands and feet and as you breath in feel a lift through the spine. The body will feel like it is being gently stretched out and you will feel a subtle current of electricity flowing through your body.
Keep the mind still and let go.

Informative and very interesting. We all need to effectively get enough sleep and bending something to sustain our body's needs is very essential. Once I get enough information and expectedly gain success from my mileage, I will get back to share the same search varying both good and bad outcome.

This question is directed to anyone with experience in meditation; is it true that meditation reduces the need for sleep?
