Voice number 5 has 20.215hz which is sopposed to mimic the effects of the drug LSD. I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

I was under the impression that frequencies above 1000 hertz would not properly be reflected internally by the skull through headphones, and hence, would not be particularly helpful for producing binaural beats. If that's the case, it would be interesting to hear comments on the frequencies used in this preset. Particularly voices 4,5,6 whose tones might not be internally reflected in the skull. I have questions about the effect both of the audio frequencies and the entraining frequencies. How, for example, can one get a measure of the power spectrum of frequencies sent into the corticothalmic system from these presets, and correlate them to the final dominant entrainment frequencies in subjects? What are the hidden frequencies transmitted, ie, if you have 9 and 6 going at once, do you also consider the 3 from their difference and what is it's power to entrain? What about entrainment at say 4 when using two voices one at 104 and one at 100 when you are also doing one at 124 and one at 120? Do you get a hidden 20 beat from the differences in audio frequencies? How do I compute it's power to drive the mind into entrainment? |

Joe, The binaural effect is produced by the BRAIN mixing the audio from both the right and left ear in it's attempt at aural spatial correlation (i.e. perceiving which direction incoming sound is coming from). This means that frequencies above should 1000Hz should create the frequency following response, but might not work well for relaxation responses, as higher frequencies cause stimulation of the neural tissues (as Dr. Tomatis found). I think I read that carrier frequencies above 1000 HZ don't bounce off the inside of the skull properly to create a binaural. (Something to that effect..) You are also right about high-pitched frequencies being bad for relaxation. They seem to naturally make you hyper. (For me personally, if the carrier is too high and too loud - it drives me nuts - I prefer going for lower carrier frequencies under 300 HZ. If you go any higher than that, I'd go very easy on the volume.) |

This was my first preset that i've listened to.. it was pretty interesting. I listened to it for about eleven minutes and never got bored or anything...it felt kinda weird or something.

You should probabl not let the audible pitch follow the binaural beats (edit them by hand and put them somewhere under 1000Hz).

I would like to share my experiences with this preset with you. I'm probably one of the few people who actually tried to run this preset. In the first couple of minutes, it appeared to be just another harmless preset, but after a while I started to sense a tremendous pressure in the head, especially around the eyes. All of this...even though a had turned the volume to half. So...finally is was forced to take of my headphones 'cause I couldn't stand the sound any longer.... Here is my warning: Please be very careful with this preset. Turn down the volume as much as you can and maybe, it will all be ok..... |

He wait... perhaps this is what LiquidGig meant by a rollercoaster ride... a G-force preset....????

I love this toy. I used to play it every week at least 6 times! Sometimes I still play it.
